Winter Weddings

If you are about to book or are planning a winter wedding you may be thinking a lot about the chance of bad weather, but you should really consider the light. You could get as much rain in July in the UK as you might in December, we are used to it aren’t we, but you will certainly have a lot shorter time available to you in terms of light for fun and wedding photographs, so plan your timetable around it.
The good thing is that wedding photography in low light has a beauty and character all of it’s own. The best wedding photographers will cherish the opportunity to shoot different types of wedding photography, and here in Southport we are blessed with great locations to capture winter wedding photography.
Enquire after a photographers experience with winter wedding photography, not all are as comfortable with it as you would expect. Ask to see examples of the winter wedding pictures they have photographed, and satisfy yourself that there will be no problems for you to worry about.
I spend a lot of my none wedding work using low light photography techniques in my theatre and fashion work and this provides a key strength of mine when heading into the winter wedding photography season.
If you are planning a winter wedding get in touch with me at Fletcherhill Photography for Southport winter wedding photography, I’m happy to help.
Join me in supporting Claire House
I am supporting the great people at Claire House as my chosen charity and over the next few months will be involved in a number of events. I am taking part in a charity skydive (what was I thinking!) on May 8th and working hard to raise funds for this great cause – please please help by clicking on the link and spare a few pounds for these brave children.
Les Miserables – SDC Youth Theatre
Just a very brief (30 seconds for now) slideshow of the absolutely awesome Southport Dramatic Club Youth Theatre production of Les Miserables. This group are amazing and it was special to have the opportunity to capture stills of their performance. You must see it you but act fast as tickets are almost sold out.
Anna & Elle Lifestyle Photography, Southport,
CHeck out this video – I recently had a fantastic lifetyle photoshoot with the lovely Anna and her beautiful daughter Elle, here in Southport. It was a joy to shoot these images, and even better to see those tears from Anna’s mum at the viewing! Photography doesn’t get any easier when you have great light, great locations and such charming subjects.
I really loved this shoot and have chosen one of the images to be part of our upcoming Southport Flower Show stand this Thursday to Sunday 19th-22nd August – why not come down, we’d love to see you.
Second Shooting wedding photography at Mitton Hall Hotel, Lancashire
I have spent the day second shooting a wedding with my good friend Andrew Collier and what a great day we have had. The location, Mitton Hall Hotel http://www.mittonhallhotel.co.uk/ was amazing and the care and attention provided to the Bride & Groom Collette and Gary was first class.
It is great to work with another photographer from time to time, and I found working with Andrew to be invigourating and great great fun. Andrew had the day mapped out so well, building in enough time to handle those last minute surprises which all make up the perfect wedding photographers day. I would advise you all to visit Andrew’s blog in the next few days at Andrew Collier Photography and see the results of our days shooting.
BTW the best thing about second shooting is that I get to arrive home at a reasonable time, grab a bite to eat and get myself sorted for the next day. Andrew is still shooting, thats from 8.15am at the hairdressers to probably 10pm at Mitton Hall, not a work day for the faint hearted!
See Fletcherhill Photography at Scarisbrick Hall Wedding Fayre
Next week Sunday 25th July I will be exhibiting at the finest of wedding venues in the area, Scarisbrick Hall near Southport. The wedding fayre boasts a strong line-up of suppliers, including designer wedding gowns, beautiful wedding flower displays, caterers and cars, not to mention a great wedding venue. So if you want to research some great wedding suppliers come along and say hello.
Family Lifestyle
My lifestyle shoot bookings this year are gaining momentum as the winter blues fade away and peolpe want to get out and about. Here are just a few images from last year which highlight the unlimited possibilities when you are outside having a great time. Anything can happen and the great memories generated are captured to cherish forever.
Hey Baby

Last weekend I spent some time with Paula and Andy photographing their lovely 3 month old baby boy, with the charming help of his big sister. Here is a small selection of the images processed so far. I’d love to hear your comments on these images, and my new blog.

Farmaggedon Promotional Imaging
Part of my promotional work in October included creating promotional images for Farmaggedon.
I was pleased to hear that the Farmaggedon presentation to the NWDA, supported by many of my images, has gone on to be voted the Northwest’s Tourist Attraction of the Year. Congratulations to everyone involved in this dynamic and original enterprise.
Farmaggedon Pressnight Coverage

Some of you will have been to Farmaggedon either this year or last. For those of you who don’t know it, it is a haunted attraction on the outskirts of Liverpool and Southport. The team there have developed something special which this year became the North West Tourist Attraction of the Year, and stands a good chance of securing the UK no.1 spot too. My promotional images have over the last twelve months helped in this cause, and have appeared in papers and magazines as far flung as the USA, where Farmaggedon takes it’s place in the top 25 haunted attractions in the world.
At the start of October the opening press night saw many celebrities (including Andrew Lancel who plays DI Manson in ‘The Bill’, David Lonsdale formerly of Heartbeat, and Pete Price of Radio City, ) and media types descend on the site, and here are a few of the images which I captured that night.

Hello & Welcome

My name is Graham Fletcher-Hill and I specialise in Lifestyle, Wedding, Fashion and Promotional photography. That’s me below – my 10 year old daughter took it. She’s going to be a natural!
I am really pleased to be setting up my new blog and posting a few entries to get things off to a good start. This is where I get the chance to drop in for a while and lay out some of the work and personal stuff I have been doing recently.
I operate out of my base in Southport and am constantly building links with like minded people and businesses throughout the region.
My website http://www.fletcherhillphotography.co.uk/ is about to undergo a complete redesign. I have a comepletely new branding concept which I am really excited about, a new brochure and marketing tools, and some very interesting opportunities coming up which promise to make the next twelve months very exciting indeed.
I hope you enjoy my posts and look forward to hearing from you in the future,
Take care,
